How to Create a Tax Category

Payroll Mate has the ability to create tax categories if they are not in the software already.

  • Go to → Company
  • Click → Tax Categories
  • Click → Add
  • Title/Name the Tax that you will be creating.
  • Click on the down arrow to pick the type of calculation.
  • Depending on the calculation that was chosen, enter the rates or the amount.
  • Wage Base is the maximum dollar amount that is subject to the tax.
  • Select if the Tax is paid by employee or employer.
  • Click OK to save.
